Principal's Message 10/27/17

Dear Families,

It is wonderful to be able to welcome you back after the fires that devastated our community. This was an incredibly stressful time for all and each one of us has been affected in some way. We are all devastated by the fires and the damage they caused. As we reopen our school we remain hopeful for the future. Our staff met to discuss and learn how we can best support our students, each other, and prepare lessons. As always student safety is our top priority.

We would like to express our gratitude to all the first responders from our own community and those that came from near and far to help. There are numerous resources for families located on our district website: http://www.srcs.k12.ca.us . If you are in need of something please let us know and we will try to help.

We will be having our annual Halloween parade Tuesday, October 31st, at 12:45. Our Kinder Academy will lead the parade that will circle the playground and large park field. Please join us. Keep in mind age appropriate costumes. Students must be recognizable. No masks or facial coverings, no toy or real weapons or clown costumes. We are not responsible for any ruined costumes. We want to encourage everyone to have a safe, happy Halloween.

If you are in need of a costume the Children’s Museum will be giving out costumes to families affected by the fire or any family in need.

Friday - 9:00 – 5:30

Saturday 9:00 – 4:00

Sunday 9:00 – 4:00

Warm Regards,

Alisa Haley

Queridas Familias,

Porfavor unete a nosotros.

Principals message...

Welcome Back!  As we enter our last few months of school things will be busy, busy, busy. Please check your child’s backpack for important information of upcoming events. I am hoping the sun begins to make more of an appearance.

This time of year also brings the state mandated SBAC testing for students in grades 3 – 6. The assessment helps us to understand how our children are progressing in their learning and helps us makes decisions at both the district and school level about programs. It is important to stress the importance of the test make sure your student gets a good night’s rest, and eats a healthy breakfast full of protein.

A friendly reminder regarding parent pick up and drop off. Please be courteous to our neighbors by making sure you are not blocking or parking in their driveway. Remember to drive slowly as we have students and families walking
