Message from the Principal

School is closed through October 20th

Dear Helen Lehman Families,

With a heavy heart I write this letter. I am hoping this letter finds you and your family safe and well. After careful consideration and discussion, our school District has decided that we will remain closed for students through at least next week (10/20). There are many factors that must be met in order to reopen schools, and at this point, we do not believe the current conditions allow those factors to be met. Those factors are as follows:
Containment of the fires
Power on at every site
Safety of the facilities, including the clearing of smoke damage
Appropriate air quality inside and outside of the school.
Availability of teachers and support staff to operate the schools
Safe routes to and from school sites

We would like to provide support for your student once we return to school. Please let us know if your family has been directly affected by these devastating events. Please call us at (707) 522-3200, leave a message if we do not answer.

We will continue to communicate with you as we receive updated information. Please check the District & School Website: Helenlehman.com for additional resources.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Keeping You in Our Thoughts and prayers,
Alisa Haley

Esperamos verlos pronto.

Los mantengo en mis oraciones y pensamientos,
Alisa Haley

Principals message...

Welcome Back!  As we enter our last few months of school things will be busy, busy, busy. Please check your child’s backpack for important information of upcoming events. I am hoping the sun begins to make more of an appearance.

This time of year also brings the state mandated SBAC testing for students in grades 3 – 6. The assessment helps us to understand how our children are progressing in their learning and helps us makes decisions at both the district and school level about programs. It is important to stress the importance of the test make sure your student gets a good night’s rest, and eats a healthy breakfast full of protein.

A friendly reminder regarding parent pick up and drop off. Please be courteous to our neighbors by making sure you are not blocking or parking in their driveway. Remember to drive slowly as we have students and families walking

Sincerely,

Alisa Haley

Note from the Principal

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year. For those returning I am looking forward to continuing our partnership to ensure each child achieves their highest potential.  For those of you who are new I am looking forward to beginning our partnership that will continue as your child grows at Helen Lehman.

This is always an exciting time for me as I enter  full of hope of what the new year brings. Teachers have been busy preparing engaging rigorous lessons for the year. This year we are implementing a new math program; Everyday Mathematics grades K-5 and College Preparatory Math for grade 6.

I encourage you to be an active member in your child’s education by being an active participant at our school. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the Parent Family Organization, member of our English Language Advisory Council, or our School Site Council I encourage you to be involved.  Research shows there is a greater likelihood of academic success for children when their parents are involved in their education and their school.

It is our goal to keep you informed about all that is taking place at school. Please check your child’s backpack on a regular basis and our school website; https//Helenlehman.com or our Facebook page. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or me a call.

I look forward to a wonderful school year,

Alisa Haley

Alisa Haley
