Principal's Message

August 6, 2019

Dear Dolphin Family,

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to you as the incoming principal of Helen Lehman Elementary School. It is truly an honor to be a part of the Helen Lehman family and community. I am excited to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year and I am looking forward to meeting new faces, revisiting with familiar ones, as well as hearing all about your summer adventures! For those of you who have not met me, I was the assistant principal at Helen Lehman this past year and the principal for the Project Make summer camp this summer. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than thirteen years as an administrator, instructional coach, and teacher.  I have had the good fortune to have worked with a variety of students ranging in age from kindergarten through post-graduate school so I know where students begin and where they are going. I am eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Helen Lehman Elementary School to help ensure your child's success.

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Helen Lehman Elementary School by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will continue to focus on creating a safe, supportive learning environment that teaches our students how to be successful both in and out of the classroom.

As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors--teachers, students and parents--feels welcomed. My door is always open and I value your input.  Please feel free to contact me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

I look forward to seeing you in August.

Sincerely,

Julia Cooper
